Brick Lane is full of good curry houses, but, as far as I’m concerned only has one that is EXCELLENT! - The Monsoon, just past Heneage Street not only has it the most charming and attentive staff, and a lovely atmosphere, but serves the most mouthwatering Bangladeshi cuisine I’ve ever eaten. The menu is very comprehensive and caters for all, even if you have friends who don’t like ‘spicy’ food the Monsoon will soon change their minds and the selection of vegetarian dishes is sublime (I’m not a vegetarian, but often opt for one as they are so scrumptious.) Before we discovered The Monsoon we had eaten at quite a few other Restaurants on Brick Lane, but five years ago, after eating their mouthwatering food we have never been anywhere else! Oh, I forgot to mention that after the meal they serve ‘proper’ coffee with cream & mints.

been there on a saturday night. wasnt so busy that justifies the quality of the food. no seriously, travelled an hour to supposedly one of the best indian restaurant in bricklane.the portion and price are good but the taste blunt. im surely not overeracting now im convinced that the best restaurants are still the ones around me in edgware region like khana pena, zanzibar or taste of india in hatfield...good for a one off experience

Food ok, service ok, value ok, but the gang of drunk asian yobs who tried to throw an innocent passer-by through the window of Monsoon as we left rather spoilt the evening. Asking around, this is getting common - Brick Lane on a Friday night is now a prowling ground for drunk Asian youth. Avoid if you have sensibilities or a family.

I organised a birthday party for 30 people at the Monsoon and I have to say I was more than impressed with this place. From the initial booking which I did through the manager (who was incredibly helpful) to the food and service which was top notch, and great value too. Everyone really had a great time. I wouldn't hesitate organising another party at The Monsoon. It's possibly the best restaurant on the strip!

I have been to most of the restaurants in brick lane and the monsoon is unique. One of the best, the murgi methi massala is a must try there, staff are very friendly, they greet you very warmly especially Jai, the top waiter i think.
